".I.he first games were played at- Opotiki on Wednesday night in the Opotiki I*ire Station, the games resulted: — Billiards J. Shaw, I). Miller (Opotiki) 102, in play heat T. Hnindell and S. Dent (Whakatane) 73. E. Webb and T. Hickey (Opotiki) (it iost to Norman and Stewart (Whakatane) ICO, in play. Sr.ooker Snaw arid Aliller (Opotiki) 1.5 heat T. and Dent fWhakatano) 31. Hickey and Wehh (Opotiki) 30 lost to Stewart and Norman -39.
At the conclusion of the games tire visiting brigadesmeh were entertained to supper by the local firemen. On Tuesday, 10th. July, a party of Opotiki men will visit A\ hakatane in si return rnatcir. A final match will ho played-in several weeks’ time and this will he played on a neutral table.
