Maunganui for a holiday cruise around the South Sea Islands. _ - W AIM ANA NEWS BASKETBALL DANCE MOST SUCCESSFUL EVENING ' A dance organised by the Waimana Basketball Association, was held in
the" AVaunatia Hall last-night. 'lhe large attendance ot dancers: and the * excellent music provided by the Melody Masters’ Orchestra made the evening a most' enjoyable one. The large number ot ‘ novelty and lucky dances wa*s a feature of the function. During a confetti dance a row of balloons was lowered to the dancers, who included a large number of visitors from Opotiki. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss P. Scott and Mr McGregor. while Mrs Guide and Mr J). JRca were the successful couple in a statue log cabin. A competition for a calce was v(>n by Mr I. Savage. Miss 0. Collins and Mr Skipper were the winners of another Monte Carlo dance. Aliss M. Fleming carried out the duties of M.C.
