V ' AN NU A L M EiETING ‘ ’ ’ 1 ' \'>V The annual meeting of the Opotiki A. and P. Association wasVheld in the R.S.A. room last night, the retiring president, Mr. R. Looney, occupying the chair. , The minutes of the previ- ’ ous meeting were read and confirmed and the president’s annual report was read by the secretary. The balancesheet showed an improvement in the financial position. The report' arid balance-sheet were adopted. 1 ' Officers. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Air J. H. Reid. President, Air J. Stansbury. AUce-presidents, Alessrs G. Watson and C. T. Clark. . ;

It was decided to thank the auditors for their services during the year. Committee, Alessrs M. Vanstone, F. AV. Reid, AI. B. Abbot, W. G. Butler, G. W. Lowe, A. Gordon, J. T. Clark, C. Black, A. F. Summers, P. Looney, AV. Beattie. AV. Stevens, S. E. AA r ebb, S. AI. Jeplison, R. Looney, O. Shove, R. D. Looney, J. Gaskill. Country representatives, Messrs Wv Fainveatlier (Coast), E. P. AA 7 oolfield (AA f aimana). ' General Business The annual subscription was fixed as last year, £1 Is. On the motion of Mr Davies, seconded by Air R. D. Looney, the secretary was instructed to write to Air G. F. Powell thanking him for liis services as a judge and member and wishing him a speedy recovery. In moving that tlie services of Air R. D. Looney, the retiring president, be placed on record, Air C. Black said that Air Looney had been a very wideawake president. Air G. AA’atsoji seconded the motion, which was carried by acclamation. In returning thanks Air Looney said he would be only too 1 pleased to render, what assistance he could to the association.
Mj. Reg. LoonCy ' referred to the school work done for the annual show and said that some , did the work in •November while others did the work in the new year. It meant that some of the pupils were at the end of their "term while others were only commencing the work in their pew standard. Mr Black suggested tjiat .the schedules be issued at an earlier date. The secretary then made several suggestions and said the matter of the school work could be easily arranged. Mr Reg. Looney saTd it had been suggested to him that the annual meeting of the ladies’ , committee be advertised. He had had complaints that ladies knew nothing about the meeting.
A brief conference report was made . by the secretary. " Discussion took \place iri connection with membership of the Rpyal Show 'to be held at Hamilton. It was stated that a fair number of subscriptions had been promised and the meeting decided to make further efforts on behalf of the Royal Show. The question of the letting of the showgrounds was left in the hands of a small committee.
