CALCUTTA, May 2. Probably the oldest European in India is Mr J. CL Laing, of Karachi, who has celebrated his ninety-fifth birthday. Mr Laing was born in. Aberdeen in 1843, the year in wliieh Sir Charles Napier annexed the Province of Sind for Britain.; Ho enlisted in the 3rd Battery. Royal Field Artillery, in 1861 and went out to India in 1864.
