OPOTIKI CHORAL SOCIETY
The Opotiki Choral Society, which was formed about 12< mouths ago continues to make good progress and the membership which has now reached nearly -1C is still increasing. As is the case in most choral societies and choirs the lady members predominate and tbe society is endeavouring to get more male voices. Weekly practices are held on Wednesday nights in the St. John’s Hall and .are well attended. The society has purchased a complete new set ot' music which includes selections from tlie popular operas as well as attractive part songs. 1 lie society intends giving at least two if not three concerts this year; the first to he held in the beginning 0 f July. Several entirely new assisting artists will give nil added attraction to the large and varied programme to he presented.
