Special thanks “were given to the members who attended the stock sales, to those who visited the hospital, to all who assisted at the flower show -and tea-rooms and to tlie secretary and treasurer of the League and the flower show committee. Mrs Gordon said that interest in the league was still maintained, the committee meetings being well attended". The stock sale was . attended each month and Mrs Steptoe was good enough to act as convener; Mrs Wilson and Mrs Hughes undertaking to' cut all sandwiches required, entailing a considerable amount of . work, and thanks were due to these members tor the able manner in which they carried out the work. The League was able to be of service to Nurse Hubbard by arranging a clothes drive which proved a great success. Thanks were tendered to the girl guides and boy scouts for their help in collecting the parcels and also to those who- used their cars. The League was able to supply all requirements of the hospital, and were also able to make* the lives of a few aged people happier by supplying a few extra comforts. Regret was expressed' at the departure' from their midst of two members of the league and the resignation of Mrs Merry. A garden party was held to farewell Mrs Kibblewhite, and Dr. eWudd. medical superintendent, was fareiv :'lled at a social evening. The year was commenced with a successful garden party which was enjoyed by all in glorious weather. Weather condition's were not ho favourable for the annual chrysanthemum show, but, all things considered, the function was very successful. Thanks were extended to the public for their generous support and to Mr Moody who again donated a miniature cup. At the conclusion of her report, Mi's Gordon expressed her appreciation of - the loyal support and co-operation given by members of the committee. The presentation of the balance-sheet disclosed a" satisfactory position. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President. Mrs C. Gordon. Vice-presidents, Airs Quirk, Alls Alorice.
