PRESBYTERIAN BIBLE CLASSES
ANNUAL RALLY HELD IN OPOTIKI i ' (About ISO members of Bible Classes throughout the Bay of Plenty were present at the annual rally held in Opotiki on the King’s Birthday. The visitors, who came from Whakatane, Alatata. Kdgecumbe, and Awakeri, were entertained at morning tea, upon arrival and welcomed by 31 r T. Steele and Rev. A. C. Hampton. Rev. K. Watson, of Whakatane, conducted the service, tin 1 scripture reading being taken, by Mr Boswell. The address was given by Rev. Horjvell, ol Rangitaiki.
Basketball games took place at the school-grounds and resulted as 1 olio ws :
AVhakatane A 7 heat Edgecumbo I Awakeri A 9 beat! Opotiki j.V 2. Awakeri B 0 heat AVhakatane B 2. Kidgecumbe B 1 lost to Opotiki B -I Awakeri A IS bent AA’hakatane C 1
Semi-final : Awakeri A 6 beat Whakatane A 1. Awakeri B J heat Opotiki 1> 0. Final : Awakeri A 7 beat Awakeri B 0.
Football and relay races took place on Gunnelly’s, paddb/k as follows: Football: Whakatane Id, Opotiki 5. Relay, boys: Opotiki 1. "Whakatane’ 2, Awakeri 3. Relay, girls: AVhakatane 1, Opotiki
Whakatane were first, with Vl2 points; Opotiki wore second with 27 points; Awakeri wore third with 2d points.
