OPOTiKI CSTIZENS’ C.LUB THE ANNUAL ' MEETING ———'• l The annual meeting of the- Opotilii Citizens’ Croquet Club was held at Mrs Tabb’s residence on June Bth. Present/ Mrs E. J. Burton, (in the chair), .Mrs T. G. Johnson (vice-presi-dent), Mrs A. EL Pavne (secretary), Mrs T. Palmer (treasurer), Mesdames H. Parkinson, J. Parkinson, Grandison, Rusden, Maddren, Stevenson, Tabb and Day. The minutes of the previous annual meeting, were read and confirmed: The treasurer’s report was adopted. . The president thanked the committee and members who had helped to make the season so successful, and also the men bowlers who had helped,with the keeping of : the. green. Mrs Burton presented the trophies won during the year as follows: ‘Mesdames H. Parkinson ami C. Tabb, cup donated' by Mrs Clark, silver buttons from club. Mrs T. G. Johnson, cup donated by Miss N. Talbot, and silver button from club. Mrs H. Parkinson, club cup and miniature, also china tea set donated by Mrs Day., Mrs Palmer for best singles, a vase donated by Mrs J. Parkinson. Mrs Burton, the retiring president, vacated the chair and nominations were called for the election of officers, which resulted as follows: President, Mrs T. G. Johnson. Vice-president, Mrs E. J. Burton. Secretary, Mrs A. E. Payne. Treasurer, ill's 1- Rusden. Handicapper, ill's A. G. Stevenson. Mrs Burton, who has been president for the past lo years, was made a life member and was presented with a. pretty bouquet by ill's Payne and a very dainty shoulder spray by Mrs iladdren. 'Afternoon tea was served by the hostess, Mrs Tabb.
