SCOUT TROOPS REORGANISED
COMMISSIONER VISITS OPOTIKI SCOUTMASTER APPOINTED A meeting of the committee of the Opotiki Scout movement was held in the It.S.A. rooms on Wednesday night. Mr F. N. Christian of Tauraiiga, Commissioner for the Bay of Plenty, was present and occupied the chair. The chief business \W.as the appointment of a scoutmaster, that position having been vacant for a year, during which' time Assistant-Scopt-, master E. Upton lias carried on. Mr/ C. Brownie was appointed Scoutmaster of the Opotiki troop. In view of the annual rally which will probably be held in Whakatano during the August holidays it is hoped that scouts will attend the meetings regularly. The first parade will bo held next Friday night. The resignation of Miss 1. Wilson, Cub-mistress, was receiced with regret. /Miss Wilson has done valuable work in this office and leaves shortly for Wanganui. The International Jamboree will be held at Sydney next summer and it is hoped that the Opotiki Troop will again be represented.
