FORTNIGHTLY PIC SALE - DALGETIY AND CO’S REPORT Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. rooort as follows on the, fortnightly pig sale held in the Opotiki saleyards on Monday : A good average yarding came forward, mostly comprising unfinished sorts, but several lines of good heavy weight baeoners were offered and realised’ prices considerably in advance of any previous sale price. !A representative attendance of buyers was present and tin* majority ot the store pigs went out of tlie district. We quote: Heavy weight baeoners, £4 2s (this being the highest price realised this year) ; others, £3 18s to £4; medium baeoners, £3 9s to £3 les; lighter, £2 19s to £3 8s; heavy porkers, to £2 6s; lighter, £1 18s - to £2 3s; buttermilk pigs, £1 4s to £1 17s; smaller stores, £1 8s to £1 13s; slips, to £1 2s to £1 ss. A Taimvorth sow with a litter of 7 realised £2, and an in-pig sow due to iarrow 6 weeks, was also knocked down at £2.
