Unfortunate Settlers.
Despite the hopes ct the settlers on the low-lying lands between Muriwai and Manutuke. Gisborne, the floodwaters which covered these flats ot the end of last month have not yet subsided. coastal side of the. main presents a. late sight, the roadway thepaddocks are covered with wet silt, but nearer the shore the waters cover the flats as much as a foot deep, while one or two homes in this locality are , T ,' still surrounded by water.
