0103 LAW INVOKED BALTLHORE, March 2. Twenty strokes with the cat-c - nine-tails were administered to-day in. Baltimore City prison, to; Clyde Miller, 37-year-old wife-heater, who was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and the flogging under .Maryland’s old whipping-post law. Miller was flogged by Ealtjnun:q’s sheriff, M'r Joseph O. Deegaii. Miller’s 33-year-old wife, who had sworn to be present at the flogging if her eyes, injured by" Miller, were open enough, was refused admission to the prison. The flogging took two minutes, and when it was over. Millefl'. half fainting, was assisted by warders to his cell.
