Air and Ails S. Fisher, AVaioeka, entertained a-, large number of guests m the Lyric Hall oil Wednesday night, the occasion being the ' celebration of tlie coming-of-age of their third son, Laurence. Dancing and competitions were enjoyed throughout the evening, excellent music being supplied by Mr J. Alannix. The duties ot M.G. were ably carried out- by Air Stavely. Novelty dances were won by Aliss V. Beattie and Air C. Borne, Airs A. -Martin and Air G. H. Alartin. A musical parcel competition was won by Aliss P. Scott and Air N. Elliott. An overhead bat-' looii. game caused great amusement: A dainty supper was served after which Aitr A. El. Alartin, on behalf of those present, congratulated cue guest of honour on attaining his majority and expressed the good wishes of all present on this important occasion. He presented Air Fisher with a gold key and asked him to accept the numerous gifts of those present. Air I* isher briefly expressed bis thanks. The twenty-one candles which adorned the handsome birthday cake were Jit and the cake was cut and handed around to the guests. During the evening two vocal selections were contributed by Mr Platt who chose “Rose oi? Tralee” and “Daghter of Aiother Alachree”.
