The slicd was found to be locked but the iron was pulled up and ai boy crawled through. The boy opened the window and the reel was secured by that means. The reel was rushed back to the river mouth and M«r O. Newth donned the belt and swam to t-he boat where lie started to pull the boat and 3lr Proffit ashore. The men. on the line however pulled Mr Newth away from-the boat and after signalling the shore 3lr Newth again swam to the boat and finally the boat with 3Lr Proffit was pulled on the beach.
