Summer time will end for the season oil the last Sunday in April, when clocks will have to he put back half an hour. The continuation of warm weather has made the drawing in of the evenings more noticeable than in previous years, and the completion of summer time seems to be later than usual, though that is not the case. The last-, Sunday in April this year falls on the twenty-fourth. Lodge Meeting. , Opotiki Lodge 1.0.0. F. held their usual fortnightly meeting on Tuesday. Officers for the ensuing term were elected: as follows: Bro. G. M.un r ro, N.G. ; Bro; W. Hallam. V.G.; Bro. A. Burton, treasurer; ' E. J. Elliott, secretary. The N.G. asked as many members as possible to attend the installation, as represntatives from Tnneatua and Whakatane will he present, and the lodge wished to make the evening a success. Opotiki Boy’s Success. Notable distinction lias come to Air AV. .V. Ponton, station engineer to 3ZB and latterly acting in that capacity at 2ZB, by his admission to membership of the highly conservative Institute of Wireless Technology, London. One qualification was the writing of an original 10,000 word thesis which would reveal something unknown to radjo service, and which eventually brought him into conflict with the Engineei-in-Chief of the B. B.C. Air. Ponton is the third New Zealander to enter the carefully scrutinised list of membership of toe Institute. Aluch local interest is added to this advice by the fact that Air W. A. (Don) Renton is the elder son of Air and All's AV. H. Pen ton, of Opotiki, and received his primary education at the Opotiki District High School.
