DALCETY AND GO.’S REPORT Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report as follows on the monthly stock sale held in the Opotiki saleyards last Thursday:—A capacity yarding came forward. Sheep were yarded in more than average numbers, and prices showed a big advance on late rates, hoggets being in very keen demand. Aged ewes, 6 years old and over, realised 18s 6d; forward 4-tooth wethers made 25s Id and a pen of ’32 ewe lambs, very small and unfinished realised 16s 9d. Fat cattle were yarded in lesser numbers than usual but met with a very keen demand. We quote the following prices for cattle: — Forward but unfinished Jersey bullocks £6 14s; fat cows, £5 5s to £6 10s; fat heifers, £5 15s; forward cows, £4 5s to £4 17s 6d; store cows, £3 to £3 17s 6d; boners, £1 16s to £2 7s 6d; potter bulls a decline on late rates but several sales were effected at £5 ss'and over. Jersey heifers the quality offered for this class of cattle was ou ‘the whole inferior but some lines were sold at up to £6 2s 6d. Weaner heifers came forward in small numbers, prices being exceptionally,; good, with a range of from £2 4s to, £2 16s.
