WAIMANA NOTES
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE -MEETING There was a good attendance oi members at the monthly meeting of the Waimana-Nukuhou Women’s Institute. which was held in the Waimana Hull last Wednesday afternoon. The president, Mrs F. J. Savage, occupied the chair. Before the singing of the Institute Song, all members stood in silence to pay- respect to an Institute member, - whose > infant daughter and only child had passed-,. away. ’The minutes, and the usual routine business was then dealt with. ’The report on the Flower Show held in March was given and showed a Very satisfactory credit balance. Delegates were then elected for the annual meeting of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation. Mrs GWylde and Mrs I. Savage being elected . Mrs C. Wylde gave an interesting, reading on “Forming the Kennedy Bay Road Women’s Institute”. The clay’s competitions were well entered for. The best flower from member's garden; Mrs N. Clark 1, Mrs T. \\. Wardlaw 2, Miss Fleming 3. “Something New from Something Old”; Mrs E. Black 1. Jar Preserved Peaches ; Mrs Hew,it 1. A Musical Parcel was won by- -Mrs Woolfield. The hostesses for the afternoon were : Mrs Mann ion, Mrs Hewitt. Mrs E. P. Ryan and -Mrs W. Addison, who served a dainty afternoon tea. The singing of the National Arnhem closed a pleasant afternoon.
