m/vtawai meeting RESULT OF FIRST JfiVJdNT Although showers fell at a the beginning of the week, the Matawai Sheep Dog Trial Clubs mooting opened in good weather conditions on Wednesday. There was a very good attendance on the opening day and splendid entries are being received. The first class was concluded shortly after midday yesterday, and resulted in a win for J. White’s Speed, with a margin of four points over J. Greenstreet’s Jock. Third and fourth places were filled by Opotiki competitors. The next event, the short head and yard was commenced yesterday afternoon. Ti e trials are being held on Mr H. Davc-r.port’s property in fine weather.
