NEW WAIAWA BUILDING OPENIN'.; ON SUNDAY A ceremony of outstanding: interest and importance to residents of the district will take place at V\ai-;-.\va on. Sunday, when the new lioman Catholic .Maori Church will he blessed by Bishop Listen at It! a.in. A big influx of Maori visitors from all parts of the Dominion will take place and preparations to cope with the large attendance expected have kept the energetic committee busy. A la rye double marque- has been crofted to provide shelter for the visitors, who will include the .Bishop of Auckland, the Bishop of Samoa, the Bishop of Pago Pago. '■ together wit!) several other mission priests. The -building is surprisingly large and is of simple design. The cost- of the church and the levelling, of the land on which it stands was in the viciuitv of £loUo‘. It is truly a credit to the Maori and Pnkelia workers who were responsible tor the undertaking. ]!c>v. Father Aarts and his hand ol workers have been working day and night making preparations for the great event.
