Cycling is a mark of Social distinction in Singapore. Mr J. L. Rosedale. professor of biochemistry at the Singapore College of Medicine*, who Is visiting New Zealand, told a Christchurch interviewer. Only the poorer classes of natives rode bicycles, wnicii were a-H registered in the same manner and under similar reglations as cars in New Zealand. Europeans and the wealthier natives , invariably rode in motor cars. Why bicyles were not similarly registered in New Zealand Mr. Roseola le found it hard to understand. Since he had been in Christchurch he and his wife had seen two people knocked over by cyclists, and they wore now becoming scared to go on the strets.
