WAI MA N A-N UK U HOU ANNUAL AIEEITING HELD The annual meeting of the Waima-na-Nukuhou branch of the Women’s Institute was held in the Waintana H all on At arch 1. Airs F. J. Savage presided ewer a good attendance of ■ members. An apology for absence was received from Airs. A\ oolfield. Hie usual correspondence was dealt with and a letter of sincere thanks was received from the Blind Institute, tor the assistance with • the recent benefit fixtures at AVaimana. The annual report was read by the secretary, which showed the institute had a very successful year. The financial statement- was also adopted. Two new members were elected, Airs Curran and AJiss. Hooie. The secretary of the gardening and drama circles read very full reports of their year’s, activities. Airs Jerram was appointed delegate to attend the conference to be held in. AYellington in July. Aliss E. AYardlaw gained most points throughout the year for .“Best Flower from Alembers Garden”. The day’s competitions were: Best flower, Airs T. AYardlaw 1, Airs Hewitt 2, Aliss Fleming 3. Butter sponge, Airs Hewitt 1. During the afternoon Airs Black presented the president (Mrs Savage) anil Airs Davies (secretary) with gifts from the members in appreciation of the most successful way they had carried out their duties during the past year. The president expressed many thanks to all members for tlieir willing help in every way during the past year. Election of Officers. The election of Officers for the new committee followed. Airs F'.
