OPOTIKI PIC SALE .MESSRS. DALGETY AND CO. LTD. Messrs. Dalgety and 00. Ltd. report as follows on tiie. fortnightly pig sale held in the Opotiki .saieyaivis on Monday:— A full yarding of all classes of pigs came forward. There was a representative attendance, all the . usual bacon factories and: exporting firms being in attendance. Prime heavy weight . bat-oner,s : were yarded in lesser numbers whilst porkers showed increased entries. ►Store pigs were yarded in corresponding numbers to that of previous sales. Competition for baconers was keen at a slight advance- on late rates whilst porkers remained on a P ar > vl *h recent, sales. Store pigs showed a slight decline. The .sale was a satisfactory one and a practically total clearance was effected under the hammer. We quote: Heavy urime bat-oners £3 15s to £3 19s; medium, £‘3 Ss to £3 12s: light, £2 17s 6d to £3 ss; heavy porkers. £2 10s to £2 15s; medium, £2 to £2 ss; light. £1 10s to £L 17s Gel; stores. 25s to 30s; slips. 15s to IBs ; inferior sorts, 9s to 12s. The principal sale was a line of 31) prime hat-oners on account of S. M. Jcphstm realising £3 14s.
