He is accompanied' by Ail's. Isbister and ids nieces, the Alisses Wilson,’ of Dunedin, who spent a short holiday in 0potiki before leaving for Auckland. REBEKAH LODGE SUCCESSFUL CARD EVENING . 'J’he first of a series of card evenings organised by the members of the Rebekali Lodge, was held at the Regent Tea-rooms on Aloiulay evening. At. the special request of many players,- progressive oCO was piayed, but it was decided that, to; comply with the wishes of the players, the evenings would lie alternated with progressive and flag SCO. There was a good attendance and a very jolly evening was spent. The lady’s prize was won by Airs J. O Sullivan junr., while Air C. Pipe .vas the successful gentleman player. Air G. Lvsaght felt, on receiving his prize -for the lowest score, that lie had been
“trapped”—liis prize . va s a mouse trap,, and caused great amusement for both' recipient and all present. A delicious supper was served by some of the ladies and the date of the next evening was announced'. HOSPITAL SUNSHINE LEAGUE GARDEN PARTY Before commencing- their year’s work, the members of the Opotiki Hospital Sunshine League and their friends gathered at the residence eft the president, Airs C. Gordon, recently. No business was dealt with, the afternoon being just a social gathering' enjoyed in the beautiful grounds. A competition caused much enthusiasm and was won by Airs H. G. Reeves. A delicious afternoon tea was served and the remainder of the - afternoon was spent in .social chatter in the pleasant surroundings. ; ■ , •
