NO MORE RACING

The balance-sheet for the year ended 31st March was read by the secretary, and showed that alter paying all liabilities the club had a balance of ,£57 5s to its credit. The balance-sheet as read was adopted, members expressing themselves as well pleased with the satisfactory position. Ths Chairman informed the meeting that owing 13 the recent stringent legislation dealing, with bookmakers they could not possibly continue racing, and it was for the club to say what they would do with the balance in the. bank.

Alter some discussion it was decided that the money to credit be paid to the Waihi Jockey Club.

The Chairman said that he deeply regretted that this was the last time the members of the Waihi Hack Club would meet as a recognised racing club, but they would go down with their colours flying. He felt sure that he was voicing the opinion of all present when he said that they would throw in their lot with the Jockey Club, and endeavour to make that club's annual meeting the success all true sports wished it to be.
