Mr T. W. Reid, the director of the Karangahake School of Mines, will be leaving this district in the course of a few weeks, to take up the duties of Instructor of Metallurgy and Chemistry at the Adelaide, South Australia, School of Mines, for which position ht was the successful applicant. Many will regret Mr Reid's departure, as he has not only been a most successful instructor, but has proved himself an agreeable and valuable citizen ot karangahake. We rejoice to hear that his new position, will mean a considerable advance to him financially, which compensates in a measure for his departure.-1-Karanga-hake Advocate.
