The University Undergraduates' Committee, before the Professorial Board, explained that the songs sung on Saturday were never intended to be taken seriously: The committee disclaimed all responsibility for the moles-, tation of the Chancellor^ who wrote to the board asking that the Charges be withdrawn as far as he was concerned.
