HOCKEY.

The A. and B. teams of the Paeroa Hockey Club held the first match in the stars competition last Saturday, when an evenly contested game resulted in a win for the A team by one goal to nil, the scorer being A. Whitmore.

On Saturday next two teams from the Paeroa Club will take part in the tournament at Te Aroha, the teams selected being as follows :—A.: Rusden, Lowery, Kennedy, H. Bray, Darrick, W. Kenny, and Browne; B.: Donnelly, Tonge, t)'empsey, C. Kenny, Hargraves, Hubbard, and Phillips; emergency, A. Bray. The

teams will leave Paeroaby the 10.50 a.m. train, and any of the above players unable to attend should notify the secretary (Mr A. Browne) immediately.
