Rome, May 13
There were fierce scenes at the Cam-
morists' trial. Erricone, assuming a condescending demeanour, replied to Abbatamaggio's chief points. He argued that a meeting of conspirators in the great arcade of Naples and a banquet of 37 conspirators at a village inn impossible without manifest risk of being overheard. He crowned much argument with a scornful outburst of laughter.
