ATTACK ON FRRNCH

Tangier, May 10,
Thousands of Kabyles attacked General Monier's camp at Belariosi, Morocco, three kilometres from Salee. Although they met with a heavy rifle and artillery fire, the natives lenewed the attack thrice, but finally retreated towards Salee, when a French detachment opened fire. After a desperate resistance the Kabyles retreated, losing 30 killed and many wounded. It is reported that the troops at Fez made a sortie and beat the rebels, and that the stronghold at Njala Fafaoi, three miles south-west, was captured. Two thousand mules and 100 camels have been shipped to Casablanca iVoni Algeria during the past fortnight and sent inland. Major Brulara's column is still at Sidi Ayash, 20 miles from Rabat.
