NEW DEFENCE SCHEME.

THE REGISTRATIONS

From returns just supplied from the officer in charge of No. 3 Area Group, which includes the Thames. Mornnsvillc, Rotorua, and Tauranga districts, the total number of registrations to date are : Territorials, 386 ; senior cadets, 641. Of these figures, OhinemuriThames district has supplied the greatest number of cadets, 285, while Tauranga heads the list ot territorials with 157. All those eligible for service who have not already registered are reminded of the importance of registering at once, as the lists close on June 2nd, and those who register last will be put in the general training section. It is pleasing to note that the various officers and N.C.O.'s in charge of this work report that every assistance is given them by the public, who realise the good results which will come of the new defence scheme.
