SATURDAY'S MATCHES.

A large amount of interest was evinced in the football match at Paeroa on Saturday between East and West seniors. The rivalry between these teams is very keen, and the result was a hard willing game. For a long time it appeared that a draw would be the result, but a scrambling rush by West ended in some of that team's men getting over the line with the ball, and a try was secured. The kick at goal was not successful, and West thus won by three points to nil. Mr C. Mettam refereed.

The junior match between Netherton and East was was played prior to, the senior game, and resulted in a win for Netherton by three points to nil. Mr W. Sorensen was referee. t
