• The football match at Paeroa on Saturday between Netherton and West resulted in a win for Netherton by three points (a try) to ml after a closely contested game.

Applications tor registration under the Defence Act, 1909, are not coming in as promptly as anticipated. A stray clog got locked in a Hamilton millinery establishment one night last week, and the effect ot its perignnations on re-opening was, as can be wellimagined, somewhat ludicrous. The cause of the disruption was peacefully snoring under one of the counters, when his slumbers were rudely disturbed and he was deposited rather unceremoniously over the yard wall.
