Taihape, April 29,

News was received this morning of a

burglary at the. Maununui post office. Early yesterday morning the safe was blown open, and a cash box taken containing ,£132 in gold and notes, also £100 unpaid money orders. The office was safely locked at 8.30 the previpus evening. The following morning found the open safe lying on its side, and the contents scattered about. A quantity of clay and sacking was near, evidently used to deaden the explosion. There
