POPULATION FIGURES.
By the courtesy of Mr J. Black, ejfcf census enumerator for this district, we are able to furnish particulars of the population in different parts of this and neighbouring districts.
The population of Ohinemuri County is 6029, made up as follows:—Paeroa Riding, 2256; Karangahake Riding, 29s 1; Waitekaun Riding, 372 ; Waitoa Riding, 450.
Piako County has a population of 3190, made up as follows :—Te Aroha Riding, 309; Waihou and Wartoa Riding, 1069 ; Morrinsville Riding (including 536 Morrinsville Town District) 994; Manawaru Riding, 544; Walton Riding, 274, The population of Te Aroha Borough is 1299. Matamata County totals 2919, the various ridings' population being as under: — Matamata, 1140; Patatere, 818; Putaruru, 542; Mangatautari and Toatoaroa, 419.
At the 1906 census the population of Ohinemuri County was 5895. ,
