OPENING OF SEASON.
To-morrow afternoon will witness the opening of the football season in Paeroa, the cup match set down for decision being between Netherton and East. The "good old winter game" promises to excite more interest in Paeroa this season than it did last season, principally owing to the fact that Netherton has entered a team for the senior competition. Both East and West will enter both senior and junior teams, and it is possible that Netherton will also enter, a team for the junior as well as for the senior grade. The game to-morrow will be played on the recreation ground, commencing at a-quarter past three sharp, and Mr P. Brenan has been appointed referee.
The following will represent East tomorrow :—L. Brenan, M. McGeehan, T. Carthy, E. Timmins, A. Gordon, E. Lee, J. Treanor, J. Pennell, E. Walton, J. Pennell, W. Olive, H. Sorensen, D. Stonell, J. McGeehan, and D. Vincent.
