DUNEDIN SUB-CENTRE . At the monthly meeting of the Executive Committee of the Dunedin Sub-centre of the Red Cross Society Mr Charles V. Smith occupied the C reported that during the month 43 patients had received instruction in diversional therapy, the number of articles made being 140. Thirty-eight Christmas toys were also made for the childrens ward at the Hospital. Appreciation of the work done by the voluntary helpers of this department was expressed by the committee. Members of the Junior Red Cross had visited Kantane Hospital, and 40 members had attended the Red Cross church service. During the term over 50 girls had assisted at the Citizens’ Day Nursery. Toys had been distributed to various Institutions and donations Of money had been given to many worthwhile causes. Crippled children in the district were again to be given Christmas presents bv th“ juniors, and a case of toys had been received for this purpose from the Anderson’s Bay Sub-centre. The chairman reported that over 700 cases of .foodstuffs and 90 cases of clothing had been forwarded to England at the beginning of November, and a further shipment consisting of 84 cases of clothing and 23 cases of foodstuffs had left last week. Donations of money and foodstuffs were still being received at the office. Thanks were expressed to Miss o. Woodhouse, the honorary organiser of Junior Red Cross, and to Mrs W. E. Earnshaw, on behalf of the packers and the guild, for the excellent work accomplished and for their continued co-operation. /'
