ASSISTED SETTLERS’ NEEDS P.A. WELLINGTON, Dec. 10. To help Government-assisted settlers to be thoroughly absorbed into the community it was hoped that as many of them as possible would be able to obtain private accommodation, said the District Superintendent of Labour and Employment, Mr T. G. Fielder, addressing the inaugural meeting of the' Wellington Immigration Welfare Committee. He added that the allocation of any substantial number of immigrants to areas outside the four main centres was not possible at present unless accommodation were available on the job.
