EMPIRE THEATRE
A stirring film drama, " Nobody Lives Forever,” starring John Garfield and Geraldine Fitzgerald, is the Empire Theatre’s change of programme to-mor-row. Garfield fills the role of Nick Blake who returns to civilian life to find that his ” trusted ” girl friend, Toni (Faye Emerson) has found a new love interest, and is attempting to erase Nick out of the 50,000 dollars’ bank roll he left in her safe-keeping. Nick’s disillusionment is short-lived, however, as he recovers his money and teams up 'with a mob planning to inveigle a rich and beautiful widow (Geraldine Fitzgerald) out of her fortune. What happens when Nick falls for his victim; and how the redoubtable Garfield deals with his formidable opponents to emerge with a clear conscience and the beautiful girl makes some exciting screenfare.
