AMATEUR ATHLETICS
Judging from the results of evening meetings to date, the women’s division of the Oamaru Amateur Athletic Club gives promise of being more successful • than either the senior or junior. Under the enthusiastic leadership of Miss E. McKone, there is a general keenness both in training and competition which should produce results as the season progresses. June Todd is already showing the effect of her consisent ' training work, and should be the club's first sprinter, with N. Nuttall and L Burke as useful supports. O. Kedzlio would in all probability be even better than the others if she settled down to serious work. Evening meetings are run under difhculties because of a lack of officials. If former members, who have given U P active participation in athletics, could give a little assistance, they would be doing the sport a great service and at tlie same time would be keeping in contact with the club.
