RE-UNION DAY

FUNCTION FOR SUPERANNUATED OFFICERS More than 80 superannuated officers of the Post and Telegraph Department attended “ Post Office Reunion Day ” at the Dunedin Chief Post Office yesterday afternoon. The chief postmaster, Mr -J. .P. Hanratty who presided extended a welcome to the gathering and he was supported in his remarks by the district engineer, Mr D. Donaldson. The Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones who previously held the portfolio of Postmaster-General also spoke, extending greetings from his ministerial ■ colleagues. >A ’ message of felicitation received from the DirectorGeneral of the Department, Mr P. N. Cryer, was read. A Christmas cake prepared by the Post Office cafeteria staff was cut by Mrs Dickson, onie of the superannuitants. Mr N. R. Mclsaac who was formerly a chief postmaster at Dunedin, replied on behalf of the gathering to the welcomes.
