CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
MEMBERS’ SOCIAL A social for members and friends of the Caledonian Society of Otago was held at the HighcJiff Cafe last night. The president. Mr A. Ferguson, extended a welcome to the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr Cameron and Mrs Cameron, and a programme of items organised by Mr T. Ritchie was enjoyed. A party of national dancers provided national dancing, and members of the Burns Pipe Band supplied bagpipe music. Other items were provided by Mr James Paterson, Mr William Brown, Miss Jean McLdy, Mr Arthur Macdonald, Miss Betty Nicholls, Mr Aubrey Clark and Miss Margaret Gardner. Miss Gardner and Mrs Macdonald were the accompanists, and music for the national dancing was supplied by Pipers Alan Dodd and Russell Green. Mr T. Somerville, president of the Presbyterian Social Service Association, thanked the society for its annual effort to make the Christmas season one of joy to the inmates of the orphanages.
