REFUSAL TO SAIL
SEAMEN PROTEST AGAINST LIVING CONDITIONS Rec 9 p.m. MELBOURNE, Dec. 9. A few minutes before the 5000-ton motor ship Rugeley was due to sail for Malaya, British and Australian seamen held a meeting on the deck and refused to take the ship to sea. Speakers claimed that the food and living conditions on board were " too disgusting to take any longer." Because they might be charged with mutiny if the ship was in the bay, they have refu§ed to take. her from her berth V~‘"‘ dispute is settled.
