GAS CHARGES
Increase in New Year The Gas Committee of the Oamaru Borough Council on Monday night received a letter from the Price Tribunal authorising increased selling prices for coke, tar, and gas, the increased charges to operate from January 1, 1948. The increase in gas prices is Is per 1000 cubic feet, and in the new year the price up to 1000 cubic feet will be 8s lid instead of 7s lid, and from 1000 to 6000 cubio feet. 8s 6d instead of 7s 6d. The prices of coke will be increased by 6d a sack, and tpr by 3d a gallon.
