HATTERS’ GRADES HIGHER The Dunedin Stock Agents’ and Wool Brokers' Association-(Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Donald Reid and Co. Ltd., Stronach, Morris and Co. Ltd., N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., Wright Stephenson and Co. Ltd,, Otago Farmers’ Co-op. Association Ltd., and National Mortgage and Agency Co. Ltd.) report as follows:—The usual monthly rabbitskin sale was held yesterday, when a much smaller catalogue, totalling approximately 18 tons was offered to the usual attendance of buyers. There was a keen inquiry and values for hatters’ grades appreciated considerably. When compared with the sale held last month, the prices showed an increase of approximately 14 to 18d per lb. for these grades. There was also a small quantity of springs included in the offering and these also met with keen competition at prices higher than ruled a month ago. The following is the range of prices:— Summers, 41-49£d per lb.; milky does, 43-491 d; first milky does, 85d; runners, 54-57 d; spring bucks, 95-l Old; spring does, 108-109 d; third broken, 46-49Jd; second broken, 80-84 id; black, 25d; fawn, 30d; horsehair, 482 d; liareskins, 20d. The next sale is listed to take place on January 13.
