NEW POTATOES
LOW PRICES RULING Heavy supplies of new potatoes have come from all districts into Dunedin markets this week. Prices ruling yesterday were considerably below ceiling, but, in spite of this, stocks accumulated. Growers are naturally disappointed with present returns, but so far they have shown no inclination to stop digging. There is no demand for Nelson potatoes, which are being held in fairly large quantities. Prices are also low for a heavy supply of green peas. Increasing consignments of cherries have been railed from Central Qtago, and the market eased during the week. Tomatoes are in steady supply, and prices have not altered. A shipment 'of bananas has arrived at Auckland, and part of the consignment should be delivered to the Dunedin marts in approximately one week. Ample quantities of strawberries are available at lower prices. If the weather remains warm the season should not last long.
