STRIKE CANCELLED
DELIVERIES AS USUAL AUCKLAND MILK ROUNDSMEN P.A. AUCKLAND, Dec. 7. Deliveries of milk were made as usual in Auckland to-day after a decision had been made by the executive of the Auckland Milk Roundsmen’s Union to cancel their proposed strike. The decision was made after a meeting with the employers’ representatives on Saturday night. Those roundsmen who did not hear the decision had to be wakened and collected from their homes early this morning, with the result that deliveries in some areas were up to three hours later than usual. It is stated that an understanding was reached between the parties. The secretary of the union, Mr L. D. Robertson, said he had no statement to make about the discussions. He could add only that as a result of what took place the executive had decided to withdraw its strike action and to justify its action at a meeting of the union.
