TROOPS FOR PALESTINE

AMERICAN DISCUSSIONS WITH CHINESE Rec. 11 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 0. The United States has sounded out China about the possibility that Chinese troops could be made available, presumably as part of an international police force, should serious fighting develop as a result of the partition of Palestine, says the New York Times. Discussions at present involve 2000 to 3000 Chinese troops. There is no indication of any response from Nanking and a spokesman for the United States delegation declined to comment on the discussions, but other sources are of the opinion that the United States would ask other countries what their attitude would be in the event of a large-scale clash.
