Sunday papers give extensive coverage to the controversy over the LouisWalcott fight as to which man won, but they assert that the appeal against the decision had no hope of.succeeding.' Sports commentators differ in their opinions. One said: “ The challenger does not often win a championship running away except in racing.” The New York Times writer scored Louis as winner by nine rounds to six, but said that the overall impression was that Walcott had done the better job. Protests from the patrons flood the offices of the State Athletic Commission against the decision. No title fight and its outcome has such i. furore since the famed “long count ” bout between Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey 20 years ago. X-rays to-day showed that Louis’s right hand is not fractured but badly bruised. Louis, who is disgusted with the showing he made, declared with emphasis to-day that he would not retire from boxing ajid authorised his advisers to announce that whatever plans he entertained for forsaking the ring had been abandoned. The United Press says that Louis agreed to a return match with Walcott next June.
