OMAKAU

FAREWELL SOCIAL A social was held in the Ophii Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, when parishioners of the Lauder Presbyterian Church met to bid farewell to Mr If. Thompson, who for the past five years has tilled the position of home missionary to the parish. There was a large attendance from all parts of the parish. The unoderatoi of the Central Otago Presbytery, t'he Rev. G. E. Dallard, presided and extended the thanks of the Presbytery to. Mr Thomson, who had originally come to Omakau for three months, and had later consented to serve the parish until an ordained minister could be procured. Mr W. J. Lennon, on behalf of the Church Management Committee, also spoke, and made a presentation of a cheque to Mr Thompson, and a presentation was also made to Mrs Thompson by Mrs Lennon, representing the women’s organisations.
