FAULT DETERMINED

CAUSE OF RECENT AIRCRAFT CRASHES Rec. 10 p.m. WASHINGTON, Dec. 5. The Civil Aeronautics ’Administration said to-day that an investigation had shown that an overflow of gasoline running into the cabin heating system caused the fires on board the DC6 type of aircraft which recently resiilted in the voluntary grounding of these aircraft by airlines. A Government industry committee has determined to its satisfaction that this was the cause of the series of fires, one of which resulted in a crash in Utah and the death of 52 persons.
